Azure Data Engineer

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer with 7+ years of experience in designing, building, and managing large-scale data solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and SQL, with proven experience implementing end-to-end data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehousing solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data integration workflows using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Synapse Analytics, and Databricks.
  • Architect and implement data lake and data warehouse solutions to support enterprise analytics and reporting needs.
  • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes integrating data from multiple on-premises and cloud-based systems.
  • Write and tune SQL queries, stored procedures, and transformations for performance and scalability.
  • Implement data governance, lineage tracking, and data quality controls to ensure reliable data delivery.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Deploy and manage data solutions in Azure environments using CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.
  • Utilize PySpark and Databricks for big data processing and advanced analytics workloads.
  • Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot production issues, and improve overall system efficiency.
  • Document technical architecture, workflows, and standards for maintainability and scalability.

Required Skills :

  • Azure Services: Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Data Lake Storage, Event Hub, Functions
  • Programming & Tools: SQL, Python, PySpark, Git, Azure DevOps
  • Databases: Azure SQL Database, Synapse, Cosmos DB, or equivalent
  • Concepts: Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, ETL/ELT, Data Governance, Performance Optimization
  • Architecture: Cloud-based data solutions, Data Lakehouse, and Modern Data Platform design

Nice to Have :

  • Experience with Delta Lake and Medallion architecture.
  • Exposure to Power BI integration, ML model deployment, or streaming data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or ARM templates.
  • Experience in Agile environments with strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
